Koh Phangan Information:

The only exemption from the otherwise laid back and quite island is the Fullmoon when Haad Rin East Side transforms into a dance floor constructed of sand. If you don't want to participate or even listen to the music, don't worry on Kohpangan are a lot unspoiled beaches, that are easy to reach like waterfalls, fishing spots and waterfalls. If enjoing tropical nature, fishing with a local fisherman is your kind of holiday activity, Phangan Koh Phangan is just the right place. If you want to meeting friends from the whole world and having fun exploring the island, Koh Phangan is just perfect, as well. There are roads to HaadRin, but we have warned you that the concrete roads are not in the best condition and unless you are a competitant motorcycle driver then do not try to get to Haad Rin, as nearly all accidents involving motorcycles happen in this area. Our advice is to leave your motorcylce at the seven eleven at BanTai and pay about 50 Baht for a pickup over the mountains to HaadRin. Koh Phangan is about 2.5 hours from Don Sak and approximately 45 minutes from Koh Samui Island by ferry. The easiest way from Bangkok to Koh Phangan is to get yourself a joint tickets from Songserm Travel Center who operates joint ticket for (Ferry and Express boats, buses, trains, planes) to Koh Phangan. Or another option is to fly an 1 hr. flight by Bangkok Airways daily from Bangkok to Samui and take the speed boat to Phangan.
